About the event
The beginning of August marks the peak of summer, and is the time of Lughnasadh: one of the harvest festivals of the Celtic Wheel of the Year.
Let's come together and ground ourselves both within the season and upon the Earth.
This Lughnasadh community gathering and featured Seasonal Magic and includes:
a personal tarot card reading
the creation of a group altar to honour the bounty of the Earth
an intentional Earth-honouring and land connection practice
blessing herbs for the land, some of which may be taken home with you
community connection
Together we will partake in a group tarot ritual, which functions as an act of community care.
No personal sharing is required in the group tarot ritual, although often participants choose to do so.
Whatever private information a person may choose to share in the space is asked to be kept in the circle.
Suggested items to bring:
-a journal and a pen
-a fruit, vegetable, flower, or other natural item that you find beautiful. It will be used to make an altar, not eaten. You may bring it home with you again if you wish.
-drinking water or personal beverage of choice (please keep hydrated!)
-whatever you need to be seated comfortably outside on the ground (a blanket, cushion, folding chair, sunscreen, hat, etc)
Location:
Christie Pits Park.
Exact location within the park shared after registration.
Accessibility considerations:
This event is introvert-friendly, welcoming of all gender expressions, and fiercely loving and protective of queer folks in all their beautiful forms.
The park is next to a subway station and has public washrooms available (no stairs). There are walking paths through the park, many of them paved. We will be seated on a grassy area, just off one of the paths.
You are welcome to bring a folding chair, or request one through me, if you would rather not sit on the ground.
